Description

When we normally talk about Milky Way we mean its bright core that can be observed during the whole summer in the southern sky. But in winter another part of the Milky becomes visible that attracts attention as well. It’s just faint and not that bright as core since we’re looking towards the periphery of our galaxy. Nevertheless, it’s quite interesting to photograph due to the number of different h-alpha nebulae such as California Nebula, Horsehead Nebula, Rosette Nebula and Barnard`s Loop that we can recognize by its red color. This image was taken on the island of La Palma in the early hours in August showing the brightness of the zodiacal light shining towards the rising winter part of the Milky Way.
